Collection: Ronita Yvarra

My name is Ronita Yvarra, and I live here in Coquille, Oregon.

I love to create. I started painting and doing ceramics back in high school, in San Jose, California. I do art to express my inner happiness. It’s a plus if it makes others happy, too. I am inspired by many things, including other artists. I like to see if I can replicate their style. I have a wide variety of artistic interests. Painting in mainly acrylic and watercolor, ceramic pottery, sewing, tattooing, beads, mural painting, costuming, and gardening. I'm a DIYer and love working with power tools and tools in general. Home improvement projects and repairs motivate me. I always have a massive to-do list.

I did my tattoo apprenticeship with Chuck Marshall in San Jose from 1979 to 1981. I opened my tattoo studio, New Creation Tattoo and Body Piercing, in Paradise in 1991, and operated it there until 1993, then moved it to Chico, California, from 1993 to 2004. These days, I’m pretty much an artistic hermit. Eat, make art, build something, fix something, plant something, then sleep, and repeat. It's been a challenge, but fun, to find places to sell my creations. I'm currently volunteering at Lucky Little Number here in Coquille and have my art on display. Hope you'll come by and check it out. Lots of great things for sale here by local artists. You can find me on Instagram, tat2lady541, or Facebook. Thanks for your interest.
